Acrylic is most commonly used to form the base of a bridge or full arch. Prosthetic teeth are also often made from acrylic. Although we may often see it used, the term acrylic dental implant is actually used incorrectly in that acrylic does not form the implant itself. Typically, dental implants are made of titanium although some are now being made from ceramic material such as zirconia.
